Wheeler

I hiked Mt. Wheeler this last weekend and had a pretty good time. Took some pretty awesome photos as well. Kinda sucks carrying that big SLR around a mtn at 13,061 ft, but to get good photos you have to suffer sometimes haha. We did the whole hike, up and back in around 5 hours or so, with eating lunch and messing around at the peak for a while. We saw an unexpected face at around 12,000 feet haha. Our good friend Carson's mom, Sue and her friend were on their way down, pretty funny. Here are some of the photos from that trip.

Fears Tears and Beers Race

This last weekend I was out taking some photos of the Tears Fears and Beers Mtn. Bike race that is held annually in Ely. It's an enduro style race where there are special timed sections that are mostly downhill. I was at 3 different downhill locations durring the day. We even had several pro riders show up this year and had doubled the attendence from last years race.

I was really surprised at how well these photos turned out, considering this is the first time I've ever done action shots, short of dropping an icecube in a cup and trying to capture the splace haha. Everyone who saw them on the slide show seemed to be impressed as well.

Here is another photo from the day. The rest can be viewed at my flickr account.
